ST Workers strike in Maharashtra: A few months ago, the ST employees had staged a statewide protest for many demands. Due to this, the service of Lalpari was stopped in the state. ST workers were adamant about the merger demand. After the Mahavikas Aghadi government accepted some of the demands of the ST employees, the employees withdrew their agitation. After this, ST workers have become aggressive on the issue of merger. These employees have once again warned of hunger strike.

Seva Shakti Sangharsh Karma Sangh Maharashtra State President Gopichand Padalkar and Working President Sadabhau Khot will be on this hunger strike. If the demands are not met, then the organization has called for another strike across Maharashtra.
The organization has demanded that the 7th Pay Commission should be implemented along with seniority for the ST employees and the pending 16 demands should be implemented immediately.
During the Mahavikas Aghadi government, the ST agitation and strike which had been going on for several months was going on. Due to this, the people of rural Bagh had to face a lot of hardship. The employees had been demanding till the end that the ST Corporation should be merged with the state government. For almost six months, the ST workers sat on the Azad Maidan in Mumbai. During this period, leaders of various political parties and Gunaratna Sadavarte led this movement.
Sangli District Seva Shakti Sangharsh ST Employees Association has demanded the merger and implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. MLA Gopichand Padalkar is the president of this organization and he took the initiative in the previous ST strike. Now the organization has announced an indefinite hunger strike from the second day of the winter session. During the last ST agitation, the Thackeray government increased the salary of ST employees. Therefore, if the issue of ST agitation is raised in the winter session, it has to be seen how aggressive the Mahavikas Aghadi will be.
